David is active in international legal and business academic circles and has helped organize colloquia and exchanges of ideas on the future of the legal profession. In addition to consulting, until 2012 David was a lecturer-in-law at Columbia Law School, where he taught a course on International Financial Transactions and subsequently a course on The Anatomy of Large Law Firms.
David is a founding partner of Blaqwell, Inc. He has worked as a consultant for more than ten years and has served numerous law firms in the United States, Canada and Europe.
At Blaqwell, David focuses on law firm strategy, structure and operations. He has also worked on some of the largest recent law firm merger transactions.
A graduate of the University of Witwatersrand (B.Sc., LLB), David qualified as an attorney in Johannesburg, South , in 1972 and soon afterwards joined Linklaters in London, becoming a partner in 1980. For nearly 15 years, he managed the North American operations of Linklaters from its New York office. David retired from Linklaters in 2000.
David is an experienced former managing partner and international attorney, having worked in the areas of corporate law and international finance. He was one of the co-founders of Linklaters’ International Finance practice and has worked on financial transactions around the world.
