< David is a founding partner of Blaqwell, Inc. He qualified as an attorney in Johannesburg, South Africa in 1972 and soon afterwards joined Linklaters in London, becoming a partner in 1980. For nearly 15 years, until 1999, he managed the North American operations of Linklaters from its New York office.

At Blaqwell, David focuses on strategy, change management, client focus programs and merger transactions. He has advised numerous law firms in the United States, Canada and Europe.

David is both an experienced managing partner and an international attorney, having worked in the areas of corporate law and international finance. He was one of the co-founders of Linklaters' International Finance practice and has worked on financial transactions around the world.

A graduate of the University of Witwatersrand (B.Sc., LLB), David is a lecturer in law at the Columbia Law School, where he teaches courses on The Anatomy of Large Law Firms and International Financial Transactions; he is active in international legal and business academic circles and has helped organize colloquia and exchanges of ideas on the future of the legal profession.
