Over the last decade Mr. Lawrence has worked in various roles in law firms including Director of Finance and Administration, Business Manager of the Corporate Department, Assistant to the Managing Partner and Program Manager for a large systems project and as a consultant to law firms in the UK and continental Europe. In addition, Mr. Lawrence worked for over six years in the UK venture capital space.

Mr. Lawrence has extensive experience in both law firm management and financial, operational and organizational issues surrounding rapidly-growing small- and medium-sized enterprises, having worked for six years with 3i PLC, the UK's leading provider of venture capital, as investment controller and business analyst before entering the field of law firm management. At Blaqwell, Mr. Lawrence focuses on strategic and practical aspects of law firm growth, including strategic options and market developments, analysis of current performance, structuring, developing and monitoring business plans, mergers and joint ventures and support management structures.

A graduate of Oxford University, Mr. Lawrence holds a Bachelor of Chemistry and a Doctorate in Biochemistry, which he received in 1987. From 1993 to 1998, Mr. Lawrence worked in several key management/operations roles at Linklaters. In 1998, he joined the London office of Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP as the London Director of Finance and Administration with responsibility for European strategy and planning and all UK support services. Since 2000, Mr. Lawrence has worked as a consultant to the legal sector in the UK and throughout continental Europe.
