herman.jpg Miriam joined Blaqwell in September 2003. She leads Blaqwell's Washington, DC office and serves both corporate legal departments and large law firms. Her recent engagements include a strategic and organizational review for a leading US law firm and an organizational improvement initiative for a financial institution's legal and compliance department.

Prior to joining Blaqwell, Miriam was an Associate Principal at McKinsey & Company, where she worked from 1994 to 2003. While there, she directed consulting engagements across a broad range of service companies, consumer-oriented businesses and government entities.

Miriam created and led McKinsey's legal industry practice, serving a number of leading law firms on strategic and organizational issues. Her law firm engagements covered a range of topics including US strategy, international strategy, profit improvement, and governance.

She also served corporate General Counsels, CFOs, and Human Resource officers extensively on organizational improvement initiatives. More generally, Miriam was a leader in the organization practice on issues including improving corporate center effectiveness and efficiency, winning the "War for Talent" and enhancing performance ethic.

Miriam received her Juris Doctor from the Yale School of Law in 1993. She then clerked on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit. She received her BA in Economics from Yale University in 1988, graduating summa cum laude with distinction in Economics. Miriam worked as a Business Analyst at McKinsey between 1988 and 1990.
