June, 2006 - Michael Ross, former General Counsel of Citibank, has joined Blaqwell, working out of its New York office. Prior to joining, Mike practiced law in New York City for 39 years. From Fall, 1967 to January, 1993, Mike was an associate and then a partner at Shearman & Sterling. His practice at the firm focused primarily on corporate and financing matters, including syndicated lending, acquisition financing, project financing, work-outs, and private equity investments.
From February, 1993, through Summer, 2003, Mike held various senior legal positions at Citicorp/Citibank and then Citigroup, including General Counsel of Citibank and Deputy General Counsel of Citigroup. In these positions, his responsibilities included managing lawyers and compliance personnel and advising senior management and staff on matters involving banking regulation, securities laws, corporate governance, and risk management.
Mike is a graduate of Franklin & Marshall College (B.A.), the Columbia Law School (J.D.), and the London School of Economics (M.Sc. Econ. in International Law).
